I grew up in the midwest and studied Art Education at Purdue University where I graduated in 2006.  In 2008, after a lonely stint teaching elementary art in rural Indiana, I moved to Chicago, IL to study photography at Columbia College Chicago. In 2011 I entered the MFA program at Kendall College of Art & Design, Ferris State University in Grand Rapids, MI and discovered small but thriving community arts organization called the Avenue for the Arts. With help from the Avenue, in 2012, I founded Craft House, a collaborative exhibition space. At Craft House I met a lot of intelligent, kind, and fiercely creative people, some exhibited their, some just came to hang out. Each year I helped curate or manage 8-10 exhibitions and provided professional development resources to local artists including internships, workshops, and artwork documentation. In 2014, I graduated from the MFA program at KCAD and I'm now working as an admissions officer and talent scout for the College. In April 2016 I closed Craft House at it's location on 40 S Division Ave and I now author a critical engagement media page (a fancy phrase for blog) at wall-less.com.
